ATI Catalyst 10.5 Radeon GPU Drivers Released

Ready to get rid of that not-so-fresh feeling in your graphic driver stack? Then check out the just-released ATI Catalyst 10.5 now available for your Radeon HD GPU.

Here's what's new:

New Windows Features

Support for 120 Hz displays for ATI Radeon HD 4000 Series and ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series GPUs

  • ATI Catalyst driver now supports 120 Hz Displays for the ATI Radeon HD 4000 and ATI Radeon HD 3000 Series graphics cards

New Linux Features

Support for new Linux operating systems

  • This release of ATI Catalyst driver for Linux introduces support for the following new operating systems: 
  • SLED/SLES 11 SP1  early look support

There are also fixes for the following games: Alien vs. Predator, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Empire: Total War, IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946, Mass Effect 2, Napoleon: Total War, Resident Evil 5, and Splinter Cell Conviction.

    Must say I had quite a few problems when I installed these. The vertical grey lines bug was back, and the graphics drivers crashed amidst installing. I rolled back to 10.4 drivers, and everything was fine again. I might just wait for the 10.6 ones.. (I have a Sapphire Vapor-X HD5870 1GB)

    Damn... I have the exact same card. I guess I'll give it a try anyways.

    HIS V2 5770 1GB working fine with the 10.5 drivers. I really wish they'd put more effort into release notes, they were doing so well for a while...

    TH is always like this. they do great articles but we get news stories days sometimes a full week after it happened.
