Duke Nukem Forever Not Dead? (Yes, This Again)

Is Duke Nukem dead? We've been asking ourselves that for more than a decade, and it seems that we're all still asking the same questions.

While we know that DNF's future is shakier than ever, those who are hopeful manage to find glimmers of a brighter day at the tiniest hints. Jon St. John, better known as the voice of Duke Nukem, said some interesting words during a panel discussion at the Music and Games Festival (MAGFest) that took place January 1 – 4 in Alexandria, Virginia, according to Pixel Enemy.

Answering a question from the crowd regarding DNF, St. John said:

I’m not allowed to speak on that subject, sir. He’s asking about Duke Nukem Forever, let me go ahead and tell you right now that I’m not allowed to talk about Duke Nukem Forever. No, no, don’t be disappointed, read between the lines… why am I not allowed to talk about it?

Given that Duke Nukem Forever is tied up in the middle of a legal battle between 3DRealms and 2K Games, fans are hanging on to all the hope they can get.

Give me 10 in-game screenshots, and at least 1 gameplay video so I will stop believing that this game takes forever to release.

Does anyone see a similarity between DNF and religious beliefs about the imminent arrival of some supernatural phenomena or some looming end of the world scenario?

I think you mean the decendants of the original fans.

I'm gonna put the release date as the day after Republicans come back to reality and the majority of democrats stop acting like spoiled brats.

Could be worse things to play.

"No, no, don’t be disappointed, read between the lines… why am I not allowed to talk about it?"

Because there's nothing to say other than some not-so-subtle hint that it may still be in development, something that we've known for over a decade anyway. Being in development doesn't mean its ever going to be finished, or that it's even been started. It just hasn't been canned.

They cannot talk about a game they Did Not Finish.
