The Vista startup benchmark requires both quick access time and high transfer rates. Since WD delivers better access time and I/O without being significantly slower in throughput, the WD15EADS is quicker in this benchmark. Of course, 7,200 RPM drives are still clearly superior.
Overall Score
Overall, both drives are extremely close to one another. WD leads, but you’ll see that Samsung requires less power in many benchmarks.
