Lightwave 7.5

With the well-known Lightwave benchmark, where an image is calculated and rendered from an animation, it can be seen that the additional 1 MB L3 cache provides a marginal increase in performance of 1.4 percent. What dual-processor operation does can be seen in the results of what is currently the fastest Pentium 4, with 3.2 GHz. But it is also clear that two CPUs are not twice as fast as one processor. In principle, the P4 and the Xeon are almost identical in standard configuration. The increase in speed of the dual Xeon over the P4 is 52 percent. A reminder: In Lightwave, eight threads run at the same time, so even the four virtual processors (dual Xeon) are at full operation.
