Acer's CloudMobile Smartphone Now Available in the UK

Announced in February of this year and shown off at the Mobile World Congress, we haven't seen much of the award winning Acer CloudMobile since the spring. The phone went up for pre-order in mid-August, though, and it looks like consumers in the United Kingdom are finally going to get their hands on the device.

TechRadar reports that the 4.3-inch phone is now available online for a SIM-free price of £290 via Expansys. Expansys had originally listed a September 5 release date for the CloudMobile, so this phone has been a long time coming to market.

Specswise, you're looking at a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon chipset, a 4.3-inch 720p HD display, 1GB or RAM, 16GB of internal memory (MicroSD up to 32GB), an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. As you probably guessed from the name, the phone is part of Acer's cloud computing push, and is actually the first handset to offer AcerCloud technology.

I don't know if it's just me but I really don't understand all this 'cloud' hype... Half the world doesn't have internet access and the other half which do have, many of them aren't juicy enough to handle this cloud stuff..

But like I said, it may just be my part of the side that's like this...
