Samsung Galaxy S Range Sells Over 100 Million Units

By - Source: Flickr

Galaxy S3 sells over 41 million units.

Samsung has announced that global sales of its Galaxy S smartphones has surpassed 100 million units.

The milestone, which has been achieved since the first model launched less than three years ago, sees the original Galaxy S selling 25 million units, 40 million units of the Galaxy S2 were sold, while the Galaxy S3 sold upwards of 41 million units.

Comparatively, Apple's iPhone sales reached the 100-million milestone during the March of 2011, nearly four years after the original's release in 2007. Samsung, meanwhile, launched the first Galaxy S model at the end of May 2010.

Since then, and especially during 2012, Samsung has solidified itself as the world's leading mobile manufacturer, as well as smartphone vendor. It replaced Nokia as the global market leader in the phone market during the latter stages of 2012.

As for the Galaxy S3 in particular, it became one of the best-selling Android smartphones of all time when it sold 20 million units during its first 100 days of availability. It then sold over 30 million units and became the world's top-selling smartphone during the third quarter, which was previously attributed to Apple's iPhone 4S.

Is it just me or does that add up to 106 million?

Also, this news rather late - was posted on the 13th.

I sold my smartphone at www.smartphonecashin.com - was a bit reluctant at first because they offer more money than anyone else, but the process was easy and hassle free
