WD today announced its Scorpio Black series of 2.5" hard drives, offering up to 320 GB capacity and a disk rotation speed of 7200 rpm. The drives consumes about 2.5 watts during read/write processes, which is about 20% more than the power consumption of low-power 2.5" drives. Idle power consumption is about 0.85 watts.
