Sandisk, Pretec unveil speedy 4 GB and 8 GB CF cards

Sandisk has added an 8 GB version to its Extreme III line of Compact Flash (CF) cards. The new card, which is guaranteed to have a minimum write and read speed of 20 MB/s will be available in March for a suggested retail price of $560. Pretec also announced a new version in its Compact Flash card series. The 133x card offers a 20 MB/s read and a 14 MB/s write speed and will be available in March with capacities up to 4 GB. Pricing has not been announced.
