Although Samsung's 512GB P9 Express microSD Express Card has only been available for a short time, it's one of the most recent microSD Express card releases designed for small devices that require significantly faster read and write times than previous microSD cards, such as Nintendo's latest Switch 2 handheld. With the first wave of microSD Express cards from other manufacturers launching with high pricing and jumping off store shelves faster than they could be restocked, the arrival of the Samsung P9 Express was a welcome sight. Originally released at $99.99, the price of the P9 Express has risen to $119.99, but in today's deal at Amazon, you can find the 512GB Samsung P9 Express microSD Express card on sale for just $79.99, a saving of $40. If you're looking to beef up the storage capacity of your Nintendo Switch handheld, or any other device that uses microSD Express, then this is definitely a good deal to check out.
Samsung's P9 Express microSD Express Card is available in two capacities: either 512GB, as in today's deal, or in a smaller 256GB size. The microSD Express card is backward compatible with the Switch 1 and older devices, but be mindful that the super speeds of this microSD Express card will be negated if not used with hardware that can take advantage of the PCIe 3.0 bandwidth, such as the Nintendo Switch 2. Featuring on our list of the best microSD Express cards, the Samsung P9 has an excellent price-to-performance ratio.
The latest microSD Express cards have to be fast to be able to stream data from the card to the device as fast as possible on high-performance electronic devices, and although these tiny SD cards may pale in size to an (2280) M.2 SSD, the P9 Express card can leverage SSD levels of speed by using the NVMe protocol, PCIe 3.0 x1 interface. This enables maximum sequential read speeds of up to 800 MB/s, with random read/write endurance rated at 65,000 IOPS and 52,000 IOPS, respectively. Samsung's P9 Express also comes with a comforting 3-year warranty.
