Via releases Linux source for Unichrome and Savage graphics chips

VIA today announced the extension of its open source support with the release of driver source codes of the S3 Graphics UniChrome series for Linux 2.6.x kernels. Unichrome chips currently support the Via CLE266 and the CN400 digital media chipsets which are built into the the Epia M and Epia SP series mainboards.

Via said that it also will make driver sources for the ProSavage and the ProSavage DDR integrated graphics controllers as well as the integrated network driver source supporting six chipset south bridges offered by the company. The source codes are available for download at www.viaarena.com . (THG)
