Speedy Notebook Storage with Seagate's latest Momentus Drive
Momentus 5400.2 120 GB, ST9120821A (UltraATA)
The UltraATA/100 version is no different from the SATA version except for the interface and the resulting lack of support for NCQ. The access times are the same and the data transfer rates are not much different.
Since it is still the case that the majority of notebooks sold are shipped with chipsets lacking SATA support, the UltraATA version should be more commonly encountered than the SATA drive, at least for the time being. The UltraATA unit is also very well suited for retrofitting existing notebooks.
