Spec Viewperf Suite
Our benchmarks fall into two categories - scientific/ technical on the one hand, and gaming and 3D rendering on the other. Spec Viewperf represents the scientific and CAD portion of our tests. The Viewperf benchmarks are comprised of six tests from different application scenarios. In contrast to the highly synthetic X11 perf-benchmark, which does nothing but draw circles, rectangles and lines on the screen and move them around, Spec Viewperf is more practically oriented. During the test, we also "put an ear" to the graphics bus while a CAD program was rendering an image. Detailed information about the individual tests can be found at www.spec.org/gpc/ .
