You don’t need to pay an obscene amount to enjoy the benefits of a new OLED monitor, thanks to this awesome gaming monitor deal. The 26.5-inch Acer Predator X27U is on sale right now at Amazon, bringing the price down by 22% to a new record low.

That means you’ll be paying just $429.99 for the Acer Predator X27U – if you’re quick enough to buy it, that is. Our Acer Predator X27U review confirms just what a good option for gamers this is, grabbing a near-perfect 4.5-star score due to its stunning, impossible-to-resist picture quality.

First things first, if you’re coming from an older LCD display, you’ll be seeing (quite literally) a serious upgrade with a move to a QD-OLED panel like this one. Compared to LCD, OLED panels offer much higher peak brightness levels and much more vibrant color output. The end result is that big cinematic games, along with movies, will be great to watch on the X27U, especially HDR content, with this monitor offering HDR10 support. QD-OLED is the better of the two main OLED panel types, too, thanks to superior color volume and better power efficiency.

All-time low price

This Acer Predator X27U display features a 26.5-inch QD-OLED panel with a 2,560 x 1,440 resolution. A 240Hz refresh rate makes it a great option for fast-paced gaming, with AMD FreeSync support to deal with any screen tearing.

The Acer Predator X27U offers a max resolution of up to 2,560 x 1,440. 1440p gaming on an OLED is a serious step up over 1080p, while also remaining much less demanding for a mid-tier GPU to match. It has a fast 240Hz refresh rate to avoid messy motion blurring in any fast-paced games you play, with AMD FreeSync Premium support to eliminate screen tearing completely.

With two HDMI 2.1 and two DisplayPort 1.4 connections apiece, you’re free to hook up your full kit to this monitor: PC, laptop, consoles, and handhelds will also work here. This is a budget-friendly OLED gaming monitor, but you’re not seeing too many compromises on build quality, with a fully ergonomic stand that includes tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustments. You’ve also got two 3W speakers included, which, in a pinch, will help you get gaming without a suitable headset.

A $429.99 sale price makes this Acer Predator X27U gaming monitor one of the most approachable options for an OLED upgrade to your gaming setup. This price is a new record low, but don’t expect it to stick around for too long.

Since when have OLEDs been known for "much higher peak brightness levels" than LCDs?

    QD-OLED specifically, maybe?

The mistake I notice is that the article says 240 Hz while the deal embed says 280 Hz.

The real refresh rate is 240 Hz (according to Amazon) so it's probably a typo.

The peak brightness, however, doesn't make any sense. Even QD-OLED can't beat IPS on the brightness level. And according to RTINGS reviews, the new Asus Strix WOLED and the Asus Swift QD-OLED (both considered as among the best OLED monitors on the market) have a very similar peak brightness. Either the author confused peak brightness with black level, or he used AI to write his text and didn't double check before sending it.

Also, the claim that QD-OLED is the best of the two OLED should have been followed with a "in my opinion". The two technologies have their pros and cons. I have been waiting for a 32" glossy WOLED for more than a year because I wanted to make sure I would have the real true-black experience. My LG IPS is awesome but has poor contrasts (blacks are grey) so I wanted to try OLED for that reason and even though my room is pretty dark, I didn't want to take the risk of spending a lot of money to end up with grey/purple black. And wow! The new Asus glossy WOLED is really impressive. Even during the day the blacks are pitch black, and after some tweaking in the monitor options and the Nvidia control panel the brightness can get so high sometimes that it almost hurts my eyes and the colors are just incredible.
