DDR5 RAM is actually discounted for the first time in months — Corsair's 32GB Vengeance kit at Amazon is now one of the cheapest available options

For the first time in what seems like a lifetime, some sticks of DDR5 RAM have appeared in the Amazon deals section with a discount. RAM pricing has become exorbitant, driven by AI data center buildouts that are crushing the industry from every direction. This Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) is still $344 at Amazon, but that's 14% off and down from $399, and a high of nearly $410. Nature isn't healing just yet, but it's good to see there is still some hope out there. And remember, prices are likely going to go up even further, so waiting for this to blow over is probably not the best option.

Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz: was $399.99 now $344.80 at Amazon

Not a mind-blowing deal, but this RAM is sold by Amazon, not a third-party, and sees a rare actual discount on sticks of RAM. Relative to inflated prices we've seen recently, this is a pretty good deal.

Obviously, paying $344 for 32GB of DDR5 RAM is tough to stomach, but this is the unfortunate reality of the new world we live in. This kit would have set you back $92 a year ago; since then, the prices have skyrocketed, and don't look set to return to Earth any time soon.

Crucially, the industry continues to warn us that these prices, and the shortages behind them, are going to continue or even get worse. Team Group warned in December that the pricing crisis had only just started, and Kingston warned users not to wait to upgrade RAM or SSD.

So yes, RAM prices are inflated, and yes, even this "deal" is expensive. However, this is where the prices are now. It's unfortunate, but the problem isn't going away.

A quick glance at PCPartPicker will reveal this isn't quite the cheapest DDR5 32GB on the market. Some kits, like this Crucial Pro 32GB, are $325, but are sold from a third-party and are barely in stock. Newegg has some Patriot Viper Venom 32GB for $339, but for the sake of $5, we'd heartily recommend the Corsair as a preferred brand. Corsair's Vengeance DDR5-5200 features in our best RAM guide for 192GB capacity, and is a trusted brand in the industry.
