Lucky PC builder scores brand new RTX 5060 Ti worth $420 for just $80 at Walmart — clearance sale find saves buyer hundreds upgrading from a GTX 1060
What started as just a memory shortage back in November, caused by the AI boom snatching production lines, has now evolved into an all-out component crisis. Navigating a drought like this is no easy task, but PC enthusiasts always seem to find a way in trying times. Such is the case of a fortunate Redditor who managed to snatch an RTX 5060 Ti (8GB) from Walmart for just $80, roughly $300 less than its MSRP.
The user posted to r/pcmasterrace showing off an MSI Ventus 2X variant of the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB sitting on the shelf of their local Walmart. The GPU's original price is mentioned as $350 on the sticker, but Nvidia's MSRP for the 5060 Ti is $379, and right now the card is going for $420 at the cheapest. That means u/ForkDryer saved at least $270, if not more, on this GPU. That's enough to get a nice Mini-LED monitor from Amazon.
We bring up the monitor upgrade only because the buyer said they're upgrading from a GTX 1060 6GB, so we can assume they're not rocking the latest in display tech either. The new GPU, therefore, will output the frames, and a new monitor can show them at their best. The RTX 5060 Ti is a solid 1440p graphics card, and with advancements in DLSS — well, not all of them can be classified as such — you can get a great gaming experience without breaking the bank.
The Redditor managed to only pay $80 for the card because it was on clearance, and some people in the comments speculated that the price was tied to a glitch. It should be noted that the checkout counter rang up the GPU for $80 without throwing any errors, and another person confirmed they've seen the same GPU at their local Walmart for $80, too. If this deal impressed you, check out the time Newegg essentially gave away $1,000 of PC parts for just $86 in an actual pricing glitch.

Nvidia launched the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB at $379 but you've been able find it for lower for around $350 ever since. That's what Walmart was selling an MSI Ventus 2X variant for, before slapping an insane clearance sale on it and letting it go for just $80. You can't get this GPU for less than $420 anywhere else right now.

Blatant lie. Unbelievable you are a staff member. I'd never do such and provide much better insight, yet no one hires me despite how hard I try...

That's $360, and I know there are even better deals.
