With price rises hitting hardware hard, this gaming PC deal from MSI is a welcome sight. Fitted with the specs you’ll need to game with comfort at 1080p, along with 1440p in most cases, this MSI Codex Z2 gaming PC with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 could be yours with a huge 21% saving on its list price.

On sale direct from MSI, the $1,579 sale price for this MSI Codex Z2 gaming PC makes it one of the more affordable pre-built machines you can pick up with these specs. Alongside the Nvidia GPU is an eight-core AMD Ryzen CPU, along with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2TB SSD – you’re getting a decent spec sheet here, with longevity and plenty of room to upgrade in the future.

The MVP of this MSI build is the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070. One of Nvidia’s most recent Blackwell GPUs, the RTX 5070 comes equipped with 6,144 CUDA cores, along with 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM operating on a 192-bit memory bus. From a gamer’s perspective, that means that this PC has the power to smash through high frame rates at 1080p with high to ultra graphics presets in any modern game you’re playing. 1440p isn’t out of the question, either, although the most demanding games might require you to tweak your graphics settings for the best performance.

MSI Codex Z2 A8NVP-486US: was $1,999 now $1,579 at MSI

This MSI Codex Z2 gaming PC is a 1080p gaming PC with the potential for 1440p. Inside the chassis is an AMD Ryzen 5 8700F processor, Nvidia RTX 5070 graphics card with 12GB of GDDR7 VRAM, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB NVMe SSD. It also comes with WiFi 6E support.

The RTX 5070 also features the latest Nvidia features, most particularly support for DLSS 4 and the newer 4.5 version. Multi-frame generation is one DLSS 4 feature that's particularly useful on a GPU like this, especially if you do want to push to higher resolutions, as it provides you with a helpful, AI-generated frame rate boost in any seriously resource-heavy games you play.

The other specs on this machine can’t be ignored, though. The AMD Ryzen 7 8700F it ships with has eight cores and 16 threads, along with a clock speed of 4.1 GHz, which can boost up to 5 GHz. While this lacks the additional L3 cache that X3D chips hold, it isn’t a slouch for gaming, and coupled with the RTX 5070, shouldn’t be a bottleneck.

32GB of DDR5 RAM, along with a 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD with Gen 4 speeds, ensures that you have enough headroom for multitasking, along with plenty of high-speed storage for a big game collection. As you’d expect from an MSI build, it uses its own components throughout, including an MSI B840-VC WIFI 3 motherboard with integrated WiFi 6E support and plenty of USB-C and USB-A ports. You’re also getting a one-year manufacturer's warranty included for any issues that might crop up after delivery.

The $1,579 sale price makes this MSI Codex Z2 gaming PC a decent bargain for someone looking to upgrade their rig with a modern mid-tier machine. This is a limited-time deal, though, and given the rapid price increases affecting RAM and SSDs at the moment, it might not be around for very long.
