Mobo Tsunami! 24 Boards with the 865/875P Chipset
Benchmarks In Windows XP
We used several different benchmark tests to present an all-around and balanced picture of the performance of the motherboards with Intel 875P and 865PE chipsets. The benchmarks from a total of 24 different motherboards provide a transparent overview.
We determine OpenGL performance with four different Quake 3 tests - the direct 3D performance from the DirectX package is ascertained with the 3D Mark 2001 SE (based on DirectX 8). Let's also not forget the established 3D games for DirectX 8: Unreal Tournament 2003 and Comanche 4.
In addition, we transform a DV video (1.2 GB) into a file in MPEG 2 format with the aid of Main Concept 1.3. The standard repertoire includes assessment of the rendering performance by means of 3D Studio Max, Version 5.1.
The packing of files is also very practice-oriented; lately we have performed this with the Winrar Packer 3.11. Last but not least is SiSoft Sandra 2003 SPI.
PC Mark 2002 is of interest to fans of overclocking if comparative values for overclocking success are sought as a reference.
