TriGem's Kloss KL-I915a: Power Aplenty and Almost No Noise

Quiet Little Dynamo

To take heat readings we hooked up six heat sensors to the KL-I915a. The individual sensors were positioned inside the small form-factor PC to be as close as possible to the heat source to be measured. Besides the CPU and hard drive we also checked out the chipset and the RAM. Finally, we placed the last two sensors on the case exterior, with one measuring point directly on the PSU fan and the second heat sensor carefully inserted in the vent opening on top of the case. We ran Prime95 for an hour for the test. Sound measurements were recorded at a distance of 20" (50 cm), with values measured several times throughout the duration of the test. Our test device for decibel measurement indicated a mere 40 dB(A) for the 3.6 GHz CPU. This value is so quiet as to be barely audible. The heat generated by our test candidates is displayed in the charts below.
