Stick In Up to 4 HDDs in this Mega SATA Dock
This cool hard drive dock supports up to four 2.5-inch/3.5-inch HDDs and 2.5-inch SSDs via a USB 3.0 or eSATA connection.
Wednesday Sharkoon added the new SATA QuickPort Quattro to its portfolio, an external docking station that holds up to four SATA 2.5-inch/3.5-inch HDDs and 2.5-inch SSDs. All bays are compatible with both hard drive formats and equipped with an on/off switch, eject button and LED indicators for power supply (blue) and hard drive activity (red).
According to Sharkoon, the device can connect to a PC either through USB 3.0 interface or an eSATA port. However, consumers using more than one hard drive will need a controller that supports a port multiplier (PMP) if connecting via eSATA. Hard drives with 3 TB of storage or less are also compatible, but anything larger than 3 TB (whenever they're inevitably launched) won't work in the dock.
The SATA QuickPort Quattro itself is constructed with a black, solid design and provides the USB 3.0, eSATA and power connections on the back. The device also sports two fans which can be manually adjusted by dials which are also mounted on the back. The Sharkoon SATA QuickPort Quattro measures 285 x 170 x 95-mm (L x W x H) and weighs 1030 grams. Shipping includes a brief instruction manual, power supply, USB 3.0 cable and eSATA cable (both are 100 cm in length).
Sharkoon said the SATA QuickPort Quattro is now available for the suggested retail price of 107.90 euros ($152 USD) in authorized retailers. Given that Sharkoon sells products locally via online retailers like Newegg and Amazon, we'll likely see the device listed sometime soon. It hasn't appeared as of this writing, so stay tuned.

They're so close... c'mon put some RAID chip on the dock and let me connect RAID 0 hard drives to any sata connection! A boost to any console, media center or older pc without RAID.Reply

Wamphryi ESata has its limits. I only use mine for backups. The drives get hot and there is no effective cooling on those devices. If I need an external drive for anything intensive I sometimes have to resort to a desktop fan to keep things reasonable.Reply -
