Twitter Adds Trends for 12 More UK Cities
Twitter's Trends feature expands across the UK.
Micro-blogging site Twitter has announced the launch of Trends in 100 additional cities around the world. Twitter's Trends feature allows users to see what topics are trending in their area. Today's expansion includes the addition of 12 UK cities to the list of Trends locations. Cities outside of the UK to get the Trends treatment include Istanbul, Frankfurt, Guadalajara and Incheon.
The Twitter UK blog today announced that users from Belfast, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Nottingham, Portsmouth and Sheffield can now toggle to their city to see popular topics of discussion for their area.
"By viewing Trends in these cities, it's easier than ever before to find out what's going on in your area and to get involved in the conversations. You can browse any of these locations by clicking “Change” in the Trends sidebar."
Trends has come in particularly useful during major events, as it allows users to retrieve updates on smaller localized issues or events, such as power cuts, concerts, or traffic accidents. Elsewhere in the world,
