Enermax Adds LIQTECH Power AIOs to Water Cooler Line

Enermax has announced a new series of All-in-One CPU water coolers -- the LIQTECH series. At first sight, these water coolers might seem like just another sheep in the herd, but if you look closely, you might realize that is not necessarily the case. 

The coolers feature a fairly ordinary design, packing a small CPU block with a built-in pump, as well as thin tubing and seemingly commonplace radiators. The radiators though, feature a different internal structure than you'd find in competing AIOs, namely one with what Enermax calls a "Seamless structure." According to Enermax, this delivers 120 percent more cooling surface. Nonetheless, the radiator still has a relatively standard thickness at 43 mm.

The units also feature the company's patented "Shunt Channel Technology" or SCT cold plate. To make a long story short, this is a break in the ridges for the coolant to flow in the CPU contact block, allowing the water that hasn't warmed up as much (along the outside of the channels) to mix with the warmer water for slightly better heat transfer. We're not sure if it'll help, but the idea seems to make sense.

Enermax will be releasing the LIQTECH coolers in two variants -- a 120 mm variant known as the 120X, as well as a 240 mm version known as the 240. Both carry fans that can spin in ranges from 600 RPM to 2500 RPM. They will be released in later October and mid-November for the Enermax LIQTECH 120X and LIQTECH 240, respectively. There was no word on pricing.
