SanDisk CloudSpeed SSD Boast High Write Durability
SanDisk has announced some durable Enterprise-class SSDs.
SanDisk has announced a number of new SSDs not intended for consumer storage, but rather enterprise storage. The drives will be known as the CloudSpeed Extreme, CloudSpeed Ultra, CloudSpeed Ascend and CloudSpeed Eco SSDs, and expand on the CloudSpeed series of SSDs.
The SSDs are built to be very resistant against high-throughput loads, meaning that you can write to the drives all day long and they'll just keep on doing their work. SanDisk also boasts that one of these drives is the first on the market to support a total of ten full drive writes per day.
"Organizations in every industry are turning to SSDs to meet the challenges faced by growing volumes of data," said John Scaramuzzo, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Storage Solutions at SanDisk. "However, finding a solution that meets the performance and cost needs of your individual environment can be difficult. The CloudSpeed SATA SSD product family was designed to meet the needs of applications across the read-write spectrum, meaning organizations and server designers no longer need to make tradeoffs between system performance and cost."

All the units are shipped with a five year warranty, except the CloudSpeed Eco, which comes with a three year warranty. If you've exceeded the maximum number of writes (PBW, Petabytes Written) before the three or five year mark, your warranty will also have ended – just like car makers do, except they do it with miles driven.
Pricing hasn't been announced yet, though availability is set for mid-Q2 2014.

If it follows other enterprise-class SSDs, then expect them to be 5x the price of consumer-grade SSDs of the same size. -

Jeffrey H Last time I checked, the Price is measured from $500 to almost $2000, that is because the Chips are more Enhanced and have 3 times less the Failure Rate than normal SSDs is my guess on it.Reply -
danwat1234 Really good durability! MLC flash can handle a couple 100TBs of writes, so is this SLC or some sort of tweak?Reply -
hannibal Probably very large over provisioning... And slc type "cache" in the drive. Quite common practice now a days is to leave some part of nand to work like slc-style.Reply
