SilverStone's New Fan Series' Offer High-End And Budget Options

Today, Silverstone is not announcing a new fan, nor is it announcing a new series of fans; no, today the company announced two new series of fans – the FQ and the FW series. Of the two, one is aimed at providing high-quality fans, while the other is for a more budget-conscious audience.

The FQ series fans come with a white frame and light blue fan blades. Silverstone equipped them with its own P.C.F. bearings, which give the fans an MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) of 150,000 hours. They come with PWM support, carry rubber anti-vibration pads, and all ship with a speed-reducing adapter.

Are these stats right? FWs' have higher RPM, but lower CFM …

I do not care what it looks like as long as it performs.

I actually had a normal sleeve fan from SilverStone(made by Globe in this case) horizontally for 2-3 years before it died. That is not bad for a sleeve. Killed off a Gelid in less than 5 months horizontally.

The FQ91 can reach 25.000 rpm, that's one zero too many.

Wow - ugly colors. I sure hope Silverstone plans to make regular looking fans (i.e. black??).

White and blue are an ugly color combination? Wait what?! They look pretty good, maybe use a darker shade of blue, but that's just my opinion.

Try a Noctua fan. It's brown/beige won't match anything other then a military themed chassis.
