A look at the ports on the Intel : even the sound has been omitted.

However, manual configuration fans should steer clear of this board, despite its good reputation : there is no way to increase voltages, and the FSB can only be varied indirectly (burn-in mode in the range of -2 % to + 4%). The BIOS programmers could add something here - even if it isn’t quite in line with the company philosophy. An effective feature is the Silent Mode (Active Monitor).

The package contents turn out to be very minimal : the orange box only contains cables for Serial-ATA and IDE. The user has to additionally purchase the expensive power cables for serial hard drives.

Field-testing showed that, in conjunction with seven different RAM modules, no maximum timing was possible. The Memory Solution modules caused problems, completely refusing to work.

The above table lists all the timings of the modules we used, which are reliably read out using a diagnostic tool. A measurement for the speed is the frame rate achieved in Quake III Demo 1 (640 x 480 x 16).
