Artist Creates Pentium 1.0 Shoes From Old Chips

But can they play Crisis?*

I wouldn't classify myself as a 'fashionista' but even I know that old school Nike sneakers have been back in style for a while now. They're not exactly like they were back in the day; they're a little bit newer and a little bit more modern, but that's what happens when you take a classic shoe and try to put a modern spin on it. Either that, or you end up with a shoe named the Blazer Pentium 1.0 and made it out of circuit boards.

The incredibly talented Gabriel Dishaw's most recent sculpture doubles as the perfect pair of shoes for any hardcore geek. That is, any hardcore geek with size 9.5 feet, the ability to actually walk around in shoes that weigh 15 pounds and the willingness to endure the pain that would inevitably come from wearing circuit boards on your tootsies.

Check out the pics below and hit up Gabriel's website for more images of this faboo piece of junk art.

*Figured I'd get that out of they way.

I'd wear the hell out of those. Jeans and a black tee baby.

I'm not a lawyer, but I think this falls under fair use like satire and such. That is very cool. I bet Nike could sell quite a few pairs of real sneakers that had a print design like that on them.

Those shoes are sooooooooooo slow... don't buy them. Wait for the Pentium 2 at least, it will make you run twice as fast. Don't forget about the Quad Core version for your 4-legged furry friends. Also, don't expect any amount of memory to actually improve your memory, it doesn't work like that. You have to shove an SD card up your A$$ for that to help.

Upgrades include: SSD 'wife beater' shirt, circiut board prophylactic device, turbo button bra tips...

bah a pentium 1 would never play crysis these are useless, the pII bra might play some warcraft II though and imagine the fun input methods you could work into that

Unlike Apple, I'm willing to bet Nike chooses NOT to sue this artist. They'll see it as supporting their brand. Where as Apple will say, "This was unauthorized, and was not made with Apple hardware."

I've contacted the artist to buy some of his pieces. The good thing is that he has no clue that Pentium III's are even out yet! I told him that I work for Intel and that I will ship him a P3 if he makes me a custom pair. He's going to build it out of an old Packard Bell P3 with a Colorado Jumbo 120 Tape Backup and Turtle Beach Tropez Card. The kicker is the Turbo button he's putting on it that takes it from 266mhz to 333mhz!

I never thought I would ever get laid in my entire life, but now, with these shoes, I think it's imminent that I could at least purchase roofies and that's a good start!

How many fps ( foot per second ) will we get when running FROM Crysis?

paradiddle 11/13/2009 7:56 PM

75, 90 or 120 but if you strafe+run, you will get (75 * √3), (90 * √3), or (120 * √3)
