UK Preorders for Sony Xperia Tablet Z Begin

Sony's UK store is now allowing pre orders to be placed for the Xperia Tablet Z. The tablets come in both 16 and 32 GB options, while allowing for a choice between a Wifi and LTE models. Currently the store says that the tablets should ship between April 12 and April 15.

Of the three versions available, only the Wifi models can be pre ordered currently, while only the 32 GB versions allows for a choice in colour between black and white. The 16 GB Wifi Xperia Tablet Z costs $600 (£399), and the 32GB Wifi Xperai Tablet Z comes in at $680 (£499).

They come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Pro clocked at 1.5 GHz and have 2 GB of installed memory. The 10.1 inch tablet has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and comes standard with Bluetooth v4.0 and all the expected sensors; 3 axis accelerometer, gyroscope, digital compass and magnetic field sensor. A 2.2 mega pixel camera can be found on the front joined by a rear facing 8.1 mega pixel Exmor R camera.

While pricing isn't always everything, these tablets come with quite the price tag. However, if the tablet turns out to be everything Sony claims it is then the price would be rather reasonable. No news yet on when the tablet will start selling on the U.S. market. If you are interested you can check out the tablet and place your preorder here.

£399. Sony must not plan on making many. Perhaps they'll call it a limited edition.
