Asustek may launch value notebooks in 2005
Asustek Computer is likely to launch value notebooks in 2005 to boost its market share - the same strategy it adopted to boost motherboard and graphics card sales, according to market sources.
Asustek chairman Jonney Shih yesterday defended the company's decision to introduce the value motherboards and graphics cards, as it was a way to prevent other vendors from grabbing market share by exercising so-called "destructive innovation" to undermine the market with low-priced products.
