CES 2007: MSI to release second notebook with crystal inlays

Next news
6:10 PM - January 6, 2007 by The Editors of Tom's Hardware

Pre CES 2007 coverage - Las Vegas (NV) - If you are looking for a stylish notebook that can separate you from the masses of the Dells and HP's, but aren't quite ready to shell out $350,000 for Ego's Diamond computers, then there's another option at MSI: The S300 joins the recently introduced the M677 and features a sparkling crystal ring, consisting of 120 Swarowski crystals, that is integrated into the otherwise rather plain casing.

Compared to the M677's 15.4" screen, the new S300 has a 13.3" display, which MSI claims comes with a "crystal" clear display, that "surpasses text viewing on a 12" notebook display and is more portable than a 14" notebook" and ultimately provides a more "balanced notebook."

Other than the M677, which comes with an AMD Turion X2 processor, the new S300 is equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0 GHz), 1 GB of DDR2 memory, and a 120 GB hard drive. Pricing and availability of the S300 have not been announced. However, the M677 has been on sale in Europe for a while and currently sells for about $1800.
