Xensource promises faster and cheaper virtualization
Xensource has released a beta of its upcoming XenEnterprise 3.1 virtualization software that will be one-fifth the price of VMWare. XenEnterprise will run Windows and Linux operating systems in virtual environments and the company claims it will be even faster than VMWare.
XenEnterprise is a commercial paid version of the free Xen software used by many Linux fans. Up until now it only officially supported Linux and BSD-type operating systems.
The final version of XenEnterprise will ship in December for $488 for a yearly subscription or $750 for a license that lasts forever.
