If, on Saturday, a few small victories were won, Sunday was to be the day of truth, and the teams dedicated themselves to fine-tuning. The hours ahead would reveal the winner.
Memory Extreme keeps us all on eggshells, cursing their motherboard. The randomly-chosen components seem to be affected by an inexplicable evil. The system didn’t start or it’d restart and freeze, even at the lowest frequencies—practically factory settings. How could it be possible that this team had been so unlucky? Fortunately, it turned out that the problem was in the operating system, which destabilized the tests the day before. Restoring the installation images allowed Memory Extreme to get back in the race.
Meanwhile, new numbers were coming from the other teams—all except Extreme Hardware, who, having installed the new motherboard, seemed to be having other problems. Shortly afterward, C1rcu1tburn3r, Principino84, and F.O.G.N.A. had a most unfortunate report: a second motherboard burnt. The regulations provided only one substitute board for each team, and so with this, Extreme Hardware has no more motherboards available to let them continue the event. C1rcu1tburn3r makes an extreme attempt to save the board by trying to replace an electronic component, but it cannot be revived. Unfortunately for Extreme Hardware—a team that started out very well the first day—the challenge ends here.

Who cares? Is anyone else sick and tired of hearing about this overclocking competition? They devote 5 articles a day about this thing. How does that affect me? 95% of overclockers are not overclocking for bragging rights, they want to get the most out of their system. What the heck do we give a damn that some dude got his machine to 8.0 GHZ?
