Nokia's Batman Lumia 900 Priced at £600, Launching June 1

Earlier this week we got all excited about Nokia's special edition Lumia 900 that's set to come out in time for the release of the Dark Knight Rises. The phone features an all black, matte finish with a Batman logo etched into the back. However, very little else was known about the device, such as when it might come out, how much it would cost, and how people could go about procuring one.

Well, today some of those questions were answered as UK retailer Phones 4u opened up pre-orders for the phone online. First of all, we now know that in addition to the Batman logo etched into the Lumia 900's polycarbonate case, the phone will also come with a limited edition black and grey skin, exclusive character wallpapers, and ringtones, as well as special limited edition packaging. You'll also get free tickets to see the movie. Second, Phones 4u has revealed that this device is a Phones 4u exclusive, which means if you want one, you're not going to get it any place else other than Phones 4u.

Lastly, the phone is listed as being available on Orange or Vodafone and the phone is free on certain contracts. However, Engadget reports that off-contract pricing is £600. Launch date is June 1, which is this Friday, and there's apparently only 900 of these phones available (rather fitting for the Lumia 900) so you'd better get a move on if you want one.

Still no word on a similar limited edition Lumia 900 for the U.S. but we'll keep you posted. In case you've forgotten what the Lumia 900 has under the hood, the phone boasts a similar design to the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 but is packing a bit more of a punch under the hood. It boasts a single-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED 800 x 480 touchscreen display, 512MB RAM, an 8-megapixel (F2.2, 28mm) camera in the rear with Carl Zeiss optics, and a 1840mAH battery. It's also got support for 4G LTE in the U.S.

Who would seriously pay for a batman phone? Not only are DC characters 1-dimensional, but Batman is nothing more than a rich guy with a really lame costume. Short of Aquaman, Batman is the worst of the DC characters. Think about it, he wears a costume with bat ears and a cape, that is really just a ..cape.
At least Spiderman had spider abilities. Batman is just some rich dude, with an old butler, and stupid gadgets. Now add in that everything has to be 'bat' themed. Bat mobile, bat bike, batcopter, baterang, batcrap..... etc.. Get rid of the 'bat' everything and you will at least slow down on the sucking so damn much... learn to fly like IronMan and then you're getting somewhere.

People with GBP600 to burn are not interested in batman-related stuff, and the other way around...

The movie tickets are not FREE, they are included with the price of the bundle.

Considering this is the middle of 2012, the tech inside the Lumia series is rather early 2011 - the single core CPU along with LOW-RES 2010 quality screen. I love the look of the L800 as the 900 is too damn big.

Need a WP8 with dual core 1200x720 rez and user controlled colored tiled like I can do on my Android.

Because of those issues, I may go for another Android phone and apply the WP7 interface like I do now.

In other words, a good looking phone that has garbage in the inside.

Sorry if i'm offensive, but a single core cpu, 512mb of ram...........No thanks, i can get something better now at a lower price.

If it runs faster on a slower CPU, than most other phones, why does it matter?

It is the end result that matters, not the speed of the processor or the amount of ram.

LOL your one of the masses that fall for the "better specs = better phone" crap. Then we go on to wonder why manufacturers make hundreds of "me too" devices that have a followup model released every few months.

    Its more better!!! derp, derp

So is there like a 150% VAT on phones in the UK? Cuz, $900 bucks for a black one is insane.
