'Batman: Arkham Knight' Puts Batgirl In DLC Spotlight

We're still waiting for Rocksteady to fix the numerous issues that plague the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. On the other hand, console gamers are tearing up Gotham with very few hiccups in gameplay and graphics, and so WB Games and Rocksteady are still going forward with the game's first DLC, which focuses on Barbara Gordon as Batgirl.

Titled Batgirl: A Matter of Family, the content will put players in events prior to Batman: Arkham Asylum, where Commissioner Gordon has been kidnapped by The Joker and Harley Quinn. If Batman shows up, The Joker will kill the commissioner. With help from Robin, Batgirl must fight her way through the Joker's minions and save her father from an ill fate.

Those who have the game's season pass will be able to play it a week earlier than others, on July 14. Everyone else gets it on July 21. Aside from providing a bulk price for all upcoming DLC ($39.99), the Arkham Knight’s season pass promises continuous content for up to six months after the game's release. That could come in the form of new adventures with other members of Batman's team, or just another set of costumes from various eras of the franchise's history.

As for PC gamers, it's likely that all of these will be available for download when the PC version is back on digital shelves. The heavy investment in not only the game, but additional content, is always a gamble for consumers, but if Rocksteady delivers a better-polished game for PC as well as great content for season pass owners, the damage might be somewhat ameliorated.

Maybe they should have verified the PC port performance instead of having spent time and money on dlc. Oh who am I kidding, screw the pc master race. The console plebs money is easier to yank from their hands.

All I can say is, I'm going to bookmark the Steam refund page once this comes out again, just in case.

i'm still waiting on compensation to those of us who pre-ordered and had to deal with this mess.. not only are we gonna have to wait on DLC much longer than consoles,,,, it also looks like WB thinks "sorry" and pulling the game from steam is enough compensation.

wtf man.. they are stingy.. by this time, EA already gave a season pass and a free game.

Batman was in constant communication with Oracle throughout Arkham Asylum. Barbara Gordon started working as Oracle after becoming a paraplegic, but now here she is walking around as Batgirl. So is this wayyyy before Asylum?

It is indeed. That's the origin story of Oracle.
