Meta has been dominating the world of virtual reality for some time, but if you’ve been reluctant to jump in until now, you’re in luck. For Black Friday, Amazon has slashed the price of its entry-level Meta Quest S3 VR headset to a record low price, allowing you to experience VR without a PC for under £230.

That’s because Amazon has slashed the price of the Meta Quest S3 128GB to just £229.99, as long as you apply its £20 voucher. Camelcamelcamel confirms that’s the cheapest it’s ever been at Amazon, but it’s also the cheapest you’ll find it right now, even beating Smyths’ TV-advertised deal on the very same headset by £10.

Meta Quest 3S 128GB: was £289.99 now £229.99 at Amazon

The Meta Quest 3S is a budget-friendly mixed-reality headset with one 1,832 x 1,920 LCD for each eye. It offers Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, comes with motion controllers, and includes a free copy of Gorilla Tag.

The Meta Quest S3 is a standalone VR headset, so you don’t need to hook it up to a PC or laptop to use it – it works independently. It features Fresnel lenses, with three fixed adjustment settings, along with two LCDs, one for each eye, with a resolution of 1,832 x 1,920 and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. That works out to 773 pixels per inch, compared to the 1,218 ppi available on the more expensive Quest 3.

Specs-wise, the Quest 3 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. While you can pick it up with 512GB of storage, this £229.99 offer is only on the model with 128GB. It’s also a headset-only model and only ships with the two motion controllers, so it doesn’t come with some added extras like a carry case or elite strap – these will cost you extra. Power-wise, it features a 4,324 mAh battery, which should last for around 2.5 hours of play time, depending on what you’re playing.

It also comes with a free copy of Gorilla Tag, a nice little showcase for the headset, especially if you’ve never tried VR before. It also supports apps like Netflix, too. All in all, if you’re new to VR, or you’re keen to introduce someone else to it, you won’t find a better (or cheaper) way to do it than this £229.99 sale price right now. Expect this deal to sell out quite quickly over the Black Friday weekend, so if you want it, grab it now.
