HP has announced that its tablet/laptop hybrid, the Envy x2, will now launch during January of 2013.
The computer manufacturer's Envy x2 hybrid "convertible" was originally scheduled to release on November 14, but will be available for consumers next month, it confirmed.
"Customers can expect to receive an Envy x2...in January, if they order today. Customers who ordered their units on Dec. 3 or prior are expected to receive their PC by Dec. 21 at the latest," a HP representative said. "HP expects additional units to ship in January."
The Envy x2 utilizes a new power-efficient dual-core "Clover Trail" Z2760 system-on-a-chip created by Intel, allowing the device to run the full 32-bit Windows 8.
Priced at $849.99, the HP Envy x2 is powered by an 1.8GHz processor, with the detachable 11.6-inch screen sporting a pixel resolution of 1,366 x 768. A full-size keyboard with a trackpad dubbed the 'Imagepad' is included, as is ports for USB, HDMI and SD card slots. Beats Audio, HD Webcam, NFC technology and an 8-megapixel camera rounds off the features.
