Netflix UK Signs Exclusive Deal with Warner Bros. TV

Netflix hasn't been in the UK market a year but the company has been extremely proactive about signing deals with movie and TV studios. The company has even snagged a few exclusives, which should give it a leg up on the competition. This week, the company announced another exclusive deal. A big one.

The deal will allow Netflix customers in the UK and Ireland exclusive access to full seasons of Warner Bros TV shows. This includes the first three seasons of The Vampire Diaries from December 1, seasons one to five of Gossip Girl from March 1, and four seasons of Fringe and all five seasons of Chuck later next year.

"We are thrilled to be the exclusive online subscription home for these incredibly entertaining shows from Warner Bros. Television," said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer. "We are giving fans the opportunity to relive their favorite moments from these programmes while hopefully attracting a lot of new ones who will be able to enjoy these serialized stories from their very beginning."

The most important part of this deal is that it's multi-year, which means Netflix competitors won't be able to offer this content to their customers for some time. Definitely a win for ol' Netflix.

Hey Netflix, how about increasing your video quality. It's like we are in the 80's or early 90's.
You shouldn't be mentioning HD anywhere on your site.

go to your account, and under "video quality" check BEST .. then it is arguably looks like HDTV. (Better than Satellite at least)... and the best quality (5Mbit ) definitely beats DVD.
when you go with the "good" quality, netflix does look a bit fuzzy, (but acceptable light of the bandwidth savings) ...
yes, the low setting is tough to watch.

I did have netflix, unfortunately for Canada you're limited heavily on what you can watch. TONS of B-Movies but very rarely a good movie.

Maybe in another 2 years i'll jump back onto the netflix bandwagon, till then i'll just stick to renting online.
