SimCity Release Date Pushed Back to March 2013

EA's SimCity reboot, from the various gameplay trailers that the publisher's so far released, looks to be shaping up to something pretty good. The impressive multiplayer, which seems to be social game done right, and the mere fact that it's a SimCity game is probably enough to ensure success.

Unfortunately, all good things usually tend to come later rather than earlier, which is still significantly better than never at all. EA's announced that SimCity's launch window has been pushed back a month to March 2013, avoiding a packed February of Dead Space 3, Aliens: Colonial Marines, Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance, and BioShock Infinite for an equally packed March consisting of the South Park: The Stick of Truth, the Tomb Raider reboot, God of War: Ascension, Gears of War: Judgment, and Pikmin 3.

Delays are an expected part of development, especially for large releases like SimCity. Hopefully, Maxis and EA will put those extra few weeks to good use and we'll get a better polished product.

SimCity will be releasing on both Windows and Mac on the new projected release date of March 8th. Here's to hoping that there aren't further delays.

Maxis = Awesome. EA = Shit. Combined = Mass Effect 3 level of awesomeness...not bad, not great.

SimCity will require players to be logged into EA's Origin service to play the game, even single player.

I remember playing the original simcity when we were just kids on the old apple mcintosh in the 90s hehe. We would destroy cities with disasters... now im all grown up it looks like those architect models that's just screaming to be destroyed ^_^

Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 looked pretty good before they released too. Never underestimate the ability of EA to screw things up. They can, they will, and they have. No need to get excited over this game until after release when we get to see reactions from actual gamers and not paid reviewers. Also, don't forget about that failure called Origin.

I don't see how you can do a remake of a Sim game. Every sequel is the same game with improvements made. With something like Tomb Raider, you can retell the story so it's a remake. What about this is a "remake" and not just a sequel?
