Sony's Xperia Z Spotted at CES

Sony's recently-confirmed Xperia Z, formerly known as the Yuga, has been spotted at CES. According to a recent leak, the Xperia Z will be priced at about $655, with the smartphone reportedly scheduled for launch in select territories during early March.

The device reportedly features a 5-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, accompanied by a glass front and rear, a 12-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, and an HDMI port. Powering it is a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, as well as 2 GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

As well as the Xperia Z, Sony, which is hoping to sell 50 million Xperia smartphone units during 2013, is also set to unveil the Xperia ZL. The latter is said to be the rumored Odin smartphone, which is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A CPU and an Adreno 200 GPU. It's expected to run on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Hmmm. Battery life and lack of updates have been the problems with Sony handsets. No word on battery specs yet?

given sony's past i will be surprised if they ever update it wanting to make people buy new phones instead, they might pull a PS3 update like where they used to allow people to pay ps2 games and then take functionality that was paid for away.. sorry sony but you keep burning your customers and done to much damage to your brand name for me to ever consider/reccomend buying your products

If I didn't hate large screened phones, i'd get this. Those nice specs, and it's waterproof.
