With its manufacturing defect resolved, the Xperia Tablet S is due to return back to retail stores this month, Sony has confirmed.
Sony will resume sales of its 9.4-inch Xperia Tablet S in mid-November in both the UK and U.S. following a manufacturing defect that left a number of units prone to water damage.
The defect discovered was a small gap between the display panel and the tablet's back case, which could allow liquids to leak through the device's casing.
Sony decided to suspend sales of the Xperia Tablet S due to the issue during early October. The problem was found when the company began to offer free inspections and a repair service for several regions where the tablet was being sold.
A spokeswoman for the technology firm said the issue affected a "limited number" of Xperia Tablet S units that "may not meet our splash-proof specification." For those who currently own an Xperia Tablet S, the inspection program is ongoing and "provides customers with an easy process to repair or replace their affected device, at no charge."

To an extent, Sony makes nearly all the high-end Android phone's cameras. I believe the 13MP in the LG Optimus G is a Sony shooter. Sharp is going to start producing Retina display type screens with IGZO and Intel has started to investing in those screens for Ultrabooks. With that said, Japanese companies are starting to come back IMO. Sony is making a pretty nice march onto the Android phone department. -

Koreans eh? Being a hardware manufacturer go compete with the likes of amazon, who don't even need to make any profit on hardware.
Sony is capable of producing excellent hardware it would be a shame if they go bankrupt.
