Toshiba PDR-T30
This is a bit like a big brother of the Sony U10. It is a bit bigger, as is its viewfinder screen, and it has a proper zoom lens. So we began to hope the T30 would fill in the gaps left by the U10. It does somewhat, but not entirely.
The metal housing is handsome, but the ergonomics are wanting.
To boot, you have to slide the cover open and then operate a button. A single step would have been better and would save time. As it is, the T30 takes six seconds to be operational. This is four times longer than the Sony and Minolta cameras and could in itself be a reason to avoid this one. It is obviously not the right camera for all in the family.
