Windows 7 is quicker on putting the PC into hibernation. The faster Desktop 7K2000 hard drive helps to shave a few seconds here and there.
Waking up the PC from hibernation is much quicker on Windows XP than on Windows 7, but the new hard drive actually accelerates the process under Windows 7. One important reason for the speed difference is SuperFetch, which did not exist on Windows XP. This feature loads the most applications into available main memory to make them available quickly once the user actually launches them.
