Intel's 45 nm Penryn CPU: 4 GHz Air Cooled

Overclocking II - 3.66 GHz

The next multiplier up is 11x, which gives us a clock speed of 3.66 GHz. The processor couldn't manage this speed without a voltage tweak. While it booted into Vista just fine, it couldn't pass Prime95's stability test.

Our sample only became stable after we raised the core voltage to 1.29375 V, an increase of 0.04375 V.

A minimal increase in core voltage was sufficient to reach a stable 3.66 GHz.
