Test Configuration

To demonstrate the advantages of USB 2.0, we used Nero CD Speed 0.83 Beta and HDTach 2.61 to show the performance increase when switching from USB 1.1 to USB 2.0. As you can tell from the chart below, we didn’t use a top-of-the-line machine to do the testing. Heck, by today’s standards, we didn’t even use a middle-of-the-road machine. We decided to build a low-end machine to show that you don’t have to have the latest P4 2.4G Frag Master to enjoy the benefits of USB 2.0.
