You there! You like free stuff, don't you? We can see it in your eyes, fish!
We've been told that entering the Geek Dictionary contest means you're in with a chance to win lifelong fame and moderate fortune. We're not so sure about that first one, but if you consider a $100 Newegg gift card moderate fortune then we're all on the same page here.
Three entrants will receive a $100 Newegg gift card so we're running this contest over three weeks. Week one begins today and runs through until next Wednesday (July 23 to July 29). Week two is July 30 to August 5 and week 3 is August 6 to August 12. One winner will be selected for each week the contest runs. All you have to do it submit useful definitions to the Geek Dictionary. The users with the most votes for their submissions will win. Easy peasy, right? Right.
So what are you waiting for? Start cranking out helpful definitions for all the newbies that are frequenting Tom's Hardware but don't understand a single, solitary word of what we say here.
Be sure to check out the contest rules before you enter.

aw. i would have gone for it if the chances to win were calculated by how many upvoted definitions a person entered, divided by the total amount of upvoted definitions entered.
they would get more results that way too. i just dont have it in me to be the 1st 2nd or 3rd.. you know thats only going to the most hardcore of hardcore.
Free give me. Darn it I don't have any useful definitions, but give it to me anyway
.
Ha, what a scam. That's barely a contest.
schmegma = that speacial sweat you get when working with computer parts: the sweat produced from the excitment of building a new computer or adding upgrade parts: the sweat produced when gaming too long leaving you unable to grip your controller
but honestly this contest is a favorites thing, and noobs can look up terms freely...what we need is a contest for new terms
l
cpu =/= computer
Crysis = Overrated bloatware.
So all I have to do is rig the contest by getting 50 of my friends to vote for my submission? Sweet, now I just need 50 friends.
"Does it run Crysis" = comment made by people racing to be the first commenter
I'm not nearly apprehensive and tactless enough to make a witty remark in a form of a definition.

Smegma... is where you took that from which then eww..
Megahurts - The way you feel when your CPU is too slow and you can't afford a faster one.
Terribad - bad^12, or "you suck"
"VioMeTrix is a terribad comedian"
Pwnage - Pronounced "Ownage", originally a keystroke error, this term has become the inside joke of gamers to suggest that they are infinitely better than their opponent. Mostly it just means their hand eye coordination is below average.
FoxConn - When ones job is so unbearable it makes them commit suicide.
Used in a sentence - Sun Danyong Foxconned after he lost his iPhone prototype that lead him being assaulted and tortured at work.
related words: Suicide, suicidal, hara-kiri
Boy do I hope that catches on.
Foxconned...i like it...sucks to be him though. poor guy..
Noob – Refers to person who looks up definitions in the Geek Dictionary. YOU! ….. Pwned!
Hey, who won the SBM a few weeks back?
And once more no fun no gain and no glory for non us native's ... its sad really.
Am i the only one that likes foxconn ?
Am i the only one that likes foxconn ?
The article earlier regarding Foxcom and Sun Danyong turned me off a little...
most votes? commence the cheating...
and yes you are the only one that likes foxconn... because you're ignorant.
FUBAR= Acronym for: Pull out the plastic cause your computer is Fudged Up Beyond All Recognition.
for newbs?
integrated coffee cup tray = CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive hahahaha
Love Newegg, have built 3 complete gaming rigs and two laptops from them and bought I don't know how much other stuff. Fast and customer service is great too if you ever need it.
Lame sauce. Sounded interesting but some noob is going to spend 18 hours one day compiling every word they can think of. If even 2-3 people put a few hours of effort in, they're going to win. I'm not dumb enough to help a competition where I have a 100% chance of failing. At least with a random drawing we have a mathematical chance.
then they publish a book with them all and make their $100x1000
