This 1 GB unit is the highest capacity device among the Gizmo! products from Crucial, a division of memory specialist Micron. With dimensions of 2.7"x0.8" (68x20 mm) the Gizmo! is the same size as competing products. Crucial supports the USB 2.0 specification, and puts its carrying strap onto the business end of the flash drive. A plastic cap is also included, to protect the USB connector from dirt and damage.
On its Web site, the vendor calls the Gizmo! a "High-Speed USB Flash Drive." With data transfer rates of nearly 11 MB/sec for reading, and up to 10 MB/sec for writing, we can accept this designation, though products from Corsair, Memina, and Transcend offer substantially faster performance. That said, the Gizmo's average access time of 0.6 ms is near the head of the pack in that specific measurement.
