Snap up 32GB of Crucial Pro Overclocking RAM for $325.99 — the cheapest available DDR5-6000 kit for hitting AMD's sweetspot
RAM prices could be leveling off
Prices of RAM, SSD storage, and even graphics cards have all been affected by the recent surge in demand for AI data centers. Some manufacturers, like Crucial, have chosen to drop their consumer products altogether to capitalise on profit margins from the AI build-out, unfortunately leaving PC enthusiasts with even less choice and competition in the market.
The RAM-pocalypse is still here, with inflated prices looking to stay for the meantime, but they do seem to have leveled off a little in recent weeks. If you're looking for speedy DDR5-6000 RAM with decent timings, then this is a bit of a public service announcement, as B&H Photo is offering the cheapest 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 RAM kit available. Crucial's Pro Overclocking 32GB RAM kit is $325.99 currently, a whopping $74 cheaper than the same kit on sale at Newegg. Available while stocks last at this price.
Checking PC Partpicker, we can see that this is the cheapest set of 32GB DDR5-6000 memory available, and significantly cheaper at B&H Photo than at other retailers. DDR5-6000 RAM is often cited as the sweet spot for memory speed when dealing with AM5 CPUs, and this is true, but it's less important when dealing with an X3D processor, as the large L3 cache negates a lot of the importance of the RAM's speed.
This 32GB DDR5-6000 RAM kit consists of 2x16GB sticks that have a 6000MHz speed, and timings of 36-38-38-80, with a CAS latency of 36.
Crucial's Pro Overclocking RAM kit consists of 2x16GB sticks for 32GB of memory. This is a DDR5-6000 kit with a 6000MT/s speed and timings of 36-38-38-80 and a CAS latency of 36. With a minimal silhouette, they don't have RGB and aren't the flashiest set of RAM, but they are available in either black or white color schemes, although the white kit costs more. The Crucial Pro Overclocking kit is AMD EXPO and Intel XMP ready.
