Newegg gives away free 16GB DDR5 RAM kit with Gigabyte B650M motherboard, all for just $109 — This deal won't last long
The DDR5-6000 RAM currently sells for $129 on its own, so is Newegg paying to get rid of this board?
Newegg is selling a Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus Wifi AM5 motherboard for $109. Down from its usual $129, that's not a bad deal on its own. But as long as supplies last, the company is throwing in a 16GB DDR5-6000 kit from Team Group for free. That RAM alone is selling for $129, making this one of the best deals we've seen this Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals season.
We've written recently about how to survive surging RAM prices. And one of the best ways to do so when building a new PC has just popped up once again!
The Gigabyte board is micro ATX, and lacks PCIe 5.0, but it does include Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5GbE, two M.2 slots and four SATA ports. So storage isn't going to be an issue for most builds.
This micro ATX AM5 motherboard sports some nice features, like Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5 GbE, as well as six rear USB ports. It's not a high-end or even a mid-range board. But when Newegg throws in 16GB of DDR5-6000, this is a great bundle deal.
The Team Group RAM also isn't top-end by any means. But it's no slow slouch, either, rated for DDR5-6000 speeds (AMD EXPO and Intel XMP ready), which is actually the sweet spot for gaming performance on AMD's current platform. Of course, 16GB isn't great for a gaming rig that you want to last for years. But hey, it's hard to argue with 'free' RAM when the stuff has been surging 500% lately thanks to AI demand.
Don't sit on this deal. It will sell out.

bit_user I wonder if this was some per-arranged incentive deal stuck with AMD. I got my 9600X at Microcenter, in bundle with an ASUS B650M board and 16 GB of DDR5-6000 (G.Skill branded). But, that was over the summer.Reply
DDR5-6000 is AMD's recommended OC frequency for Zen 5. Some CPUs will drop the IF/IOD ratio, if you go up to 6400. So, AMD has a minor stake in people using Zen 5 with faster than the cheapest DDR5, but not so fast that it would've veered into the premium range.
If this were just a bargain bin deal than Newegg cooked up on its own, I wonder if they'd have even sprung for RAM this fast?
Anyway, what I'll bet both Newegg and Microcenter were hoping is that you'd pay full list price for the matching DIMM, so that you could have a dual-channel set. In my case, I got some OC ECC UDIMMs from V-Color, so I didn't even need that stick I got. But, the bundle was still cheaper than buying just the CPU and mobo separately.
