White Windowed Antec P280 Finally Available at Retail
It appears that the White Windowed version of the Antec P280 enclosure has finally hit select retail channels, starting in Canada.
The wait has been long and dreary, and while in the meantime we could enjoy the standard Antec P280 enclosure, there's good news for those holding out for the White Window version of the Antec P280.
Regarding the feature set, the case is identical to the standard black, windowless P280. It features room for up to XL-ATX size motherboards, has three optical drive bays, two dedicated 2.5" drive mounts, and six removable 3.5"/2.5" trays. CPU Coolers can be as high as 170 mm, and contain graphics cards up to 330 mm long. The case also has nine expansion slots, allowing for up to 4-way SLI or CrossFire, and still having room for one more single-slot expansion card.
Cooling is handled by all 120 mm fans. The case has room for up to seven 120 mm fans, though only three are shipped along with the enclosure. The included fans are Antec TwoCool fans, which have a small switch allowing users to choose from a low speed of 600 RPM or a high speed of 1200 RPM. In practice, most users found that the case was well-ventilated enough to just leave the fans on the low speed at all times. The case can house one 240 mm radiator and (though tightly) another 120 mm radiator. It also has cutouts for water cooling tubes.
Front I/O connectivity remains unsurprising. It has two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, a pair of HD audio jacks, as well as power and reset switches.
The case is available from NCIX, CanadaComputers and MemoryExpress for a regular price of $149.99 CAD, but they are on sale right now for prices as low as $119.99 CAD. So far we haven't spotted the case in U.S. retailers; hopefully, we can expect it to arrive soon.

jimmysmitty Meh its a bit too late TBH. Antec fell behind in case features and others came in. They finally are using features that others have had for a while. I still get customers who want the Antec P190 series (mostly server builds but the case doesn't have all the standoffs for EATX anyways) and I cringe. Have even had a few bring in a Antec 900 to build in.Reply
Personally Corsair, CM and a few others have moved well beyond old designs and are superior to what Antec is pushing out these days. -
