Samsung Galaxy Note II Up for Pre-order in the UK

Samsung put on a killer show at IFA last month with the launch of its much-rumored Galaxy Note II and a host of other products. The tablet is the follow on to Samsung's hugely successful Galaxy Note and packs a slightly larger display as well as a quad-core Exynos CPU and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. At the time, Samsung revealed very little about the launch. However, it seems the Galaxy Note II is now up for pre-order for customers in the United Kingdom.

Crave reports that Phones 4u is listing the phone for pre-order with contracts through O2, Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone. Pricewise, you can actually snag the phone for free if you're willing to sign a contract that costs over £40 per month. If that doesn't float your boat, expect to pay anywhere between £50 and £320 for a less expensive contract.

Phones 4u has plenty of details on plans and contracts for each carrier, but all that is a bit useless without a release date. Luckily, the site has a ship date for the Note II as well. The current delivery date listed on the site is October 2, which is just a week away.

The Galaxy Note II features a 5.5-inch display (up from 5.3-inches on the first Note), a quad-core Exynos CPU, 2GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, LTE, WiFi, an 8 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash, a 1.9 MP front-facing camera for video calls, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Hurry up Samsung! All VZW has is that piece of garbage that somehow escaped from LG's manufacturing facilities.

Don't mean to disappoint you but here in Australia, we've been able to pre-order since like half way through the month.. lol.
It's been available through Kogan Australia's website and they expect dispatches around October 15 (but they are generally earlier).

  • The GN2 and the Oppo Find 5 are the best phones on the market today. The Oppo is probably the real sleeper and just might blow everybody out of the water.

The Oppo is probably the real sleeper and just might blow everybody out of the water.I had to go online and research a bit the Oppo phone... looks like a real killer. It would be even better if it had no capacitive buttons (just on-screen, like Android is meant to be), a bigger battery and (hopefully) plain vanilla JB. That could make this THE Nexus phone to have for quite a while.
