Vodafone to Get Lumia 920 in Early 2013

It's been over a month since the Lumia 920 launched on the UK's EE network, but the phone is finally making its way to another of the nation's carriers. The wireless company has confirmed that it is adding the Lumia 920 to its portfolio of Windows 8 phones. Speaking today via the official Vodafone UK blog, the network said snagging the phone was 'a real boon.'

It sits right at the top of Nokia’s new Windows Phone 8 family with a stunning 4.5-inch ClearBlack display, an 8-Megapixel PureView camera that’ll take some of the best shots you’ve ever seen, and wireless charging built in," the company.

Vodafone has already confirmed the Lumia 820, the HTC 8X and the HTC 8S for its upcoming Windows Phone 8 line. Today's addition of the Lumia 920 offered no indication as to precisely when any of these phones will be available. Vodafone says the devices will arrive 'in the early stages of next year' but didn't offer anything more specific than that. At the moment, the carrier is giving the devices the once over to make sure they're fit for customer consumption. Sadly, that means waiting until the new year.

The Lumia 920 boasts a 4.5-inch display, a 1.5GHz processor (dual core), Adreno 225 graphics, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. The phone will also feature one of Nokia's PureView cameras, though it will be an 8.7-megapixel sensor, as opposed to the 41-megapixel sensor we saw in the 808 PureView earlier this year. There's also Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi802.11a/b/g/n, 4G LTE, NFC, microUSB v2.0, and GPS.

  • I bet vodafone offer all the colours as well, unlike EE who just offer black or white and the white is only available over the phone

Sub title is a little misleading as the Lumia 920 is already part of Nokia's phone range and is already available on EE.

    I so wanted a 920.

I thought that as MS/Nokia was struggling to make it into the mobile market it would price the 930 at a reasonable price to encourage market take up.

But no...mega expensive, no sale there then.
