Sony Xperia Z Price and Launch Period Leaked

The price and launch period for Sony's Xperia Z smartphone, which was recently confirmed by the firm itself, has been leaked.

According to an image obtained by SonyXP, the Xperia Z will be priced at around $655. The smartphone is apparently scheduled to start shipping to several regions during the opening stages of March.

The Xperia Z, previously known as the 'Yuga', is said to sport a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a glass front and rear, a microSD card slot and an HDMI port. It's powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 2 GB RAM. It runs on Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, with the device also featuring a 12-megapixel camera.

Sony's Xperia ZL was also leaked, which is reportedly the firm's rumored Odin handset. It's powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A CPU and an Adreno 200 GPU, with its operating system being Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Expect a full unveil of the Xperia Z during CES next week, or, failing that, MWC in February.

Looks nice, and I've liked Sony's phone offerings so far, but I'm still waiting for an x86-based Windows 8 Phone...
